ATTRACTIONS

Photo Iceberg and Seagull (right), L'Anse au Loup Bay, June 23, 2004 (Note the similarity of the Point of Land and the Outline of the Berg)

Take a quiet stroll along our mile-long Sandy Beach or walk the Banks of the meandering L'Anse au Loup River as it gently winds its way through the centre of town on its journey to the sea.

Ask a friendly resident how to find the Schooner Cove Trail and literally walk in the very same footpath trodden by humans for ten-thousand years.

Along the way view the Terraces or Raised Beaches created as a result of the Laurentide Ice Sheet [100,000 to 10,000 years ago].

Schooner Cove, and L'Anse au Loup proper, have revealed archaeological evidence of occupation by the Paleo-Indian, Maritime Archaic Culture, Paleo-Eskimo, Basque, French and English
