Introduction
Labrador is a large area with a coastal shoreline of 7,886 km and a total area of 294,330 square km. Labrador have five very distince regions, the Torngat Mountains in northern Labrador, Labrador West, the Lake Melville region in Central Labrador, the South East Coast region and then the Labrador Straits, Labrador's most southerly region.
Labrador is also one of Canada's richest cultural regions with strong Inuit, Innu and Metis populations living cohesively with settlers and foreign nations such as Italy, Germany, Netherlands and the United Kingdom in the central Labrador region.
